Another wonderful Mary Conroy Memorial project was implemented this Spring.  On April 24th, author Kevin Lovegreen visited Webster Elementary. He writes books about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He did presentations for Kindergarten through 4th grades. He even ate lunch with the kids! In the afternoon, he met with the 3rd and 4th grades in the library to teach them how to enhance their writing skills.  Then he signed classroom books for every teacher in the elementary were purchased through Mary Conroy Memorial donations for the students to read and enjoy.  We are sure Mary (a long-time Danbury/Webster Teacher) would approve!

The family of our friend, Lois Pardun, joined us on Monday night at the Fall Concert to dedicate our new sound system. Friends and family of Lois donated $5000 in her memory to purchase this new system. Jerry Pardun and Pardun’s Canoe Rental matched that for a total of $10,000 toward the project. The new system has better connectivity, sound quality, and is much easier to operate.

Lois was a dedicated educator and a lifelong supporter of the arts. WEF is so grateful for this generous gift to the District. The school will not only be able to use this for concerts and assemblies, but for the school play and community activities such as the upcoming Veteran’s Day program. It has video capabilities and can be connected to the new Hudl system used to live stream sports and other activities.

WEF Granted $4400 in funds back to Webster students for 2022-23 Fall/Winter grant cycle.  Here  WEF members Debbie Maloney and Wendy Larson present a check for CPR manikins and AEDs to Ms. Erin Ralph – Webster MS and HS Health teacher.  Students and staff in the District will have opportunities to be certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support.

A huge thank you to the Polk/Burnett 100 Women Who Care group!  At the May 2022 Quarterly meeting, the non-profit group that was selected to receive the $11,900 donation was THE WEBSTER EDUCATION FOUNDATION! We will use the funds to provide counseling and mentors to students in the Webster district.

Pardun’s Canoe Rental of Danbury and the Pardun Family are partnering with the Webster Education Foundation in a fundraising campaign to raise money for the Webster MS/HS Sound System Project.

The Pardun Family, in memory of Lois Pardun, a dedicated educator and person who embraced a life-long appreciation for the arts and particularly theatre al all levels, wish to provide up to $5000.00 in matching funds to support the goal of purchasing a reliable sound system for the Webster Cafetorium.

If you wish to join the Pardun Family in reaching this goal, please send your tax deductible donation to Webster Education Foundation by September 1, 2022. Please indicate “Lois Pardun Memorial” in the memo of your check.
