The Webster Education Foundation hosted its 11th Annual Golf Scramble Fundraiser at the beautiful Voyager Village Golf Course on Friday, August 2nd.  Thirty-seven teams of four players, had a shotgun start at 1:00 pm.  The temperatures were warm, but there was a breeze, cold water, some shade and a bunch of great people, so a fun time was had by all.

The team with the winning score of 58 played for North State Industries in Siren, WI and was composed of Ron and Kelly Steen, Todd Henchen and Troy Schmidt.  This great team generously donated the $595 worth of prize money they won for winning and Skins games back to WEF.  The Women’s Longest Drive winner was Kelly Bertuleit, playing for Berty’s Golf, and the Men’s Longest Drive winner was Ethan Alexander. Closest to the Pin winners included Wade Wambolt from the Webster Fire Department team, Jenna Ruiz and Robin Bertuleit.

The team who called themselves “Three Slicers and a Hooker” (Scott Peterson, Vickie main and Tom & Darcy Long) won the best costume contest which included a prize basket plus $100.

The Webb Lake Men’s Club team (Steve Austin, Dale Doriott, Dave McCann and Mike Alderman) made a special presentation to the Education Foundation at the tourney.  They donated a check for $5000 to be used toward WEF’s next big project.  Those being considered are a new light system for the WHS Theatre Department and renovations at the School Forest property.

This Golf event and WEF’s Annual Taco BINGO are the major fundraisers for Webster Education Foundation.  WEF thanks all of the sponsors, participants and volunteers, without whom none of our projects would be possible.

In other news, WEF would like to give a huge Thanks to the Webster High School Class of 1994.  Class representatives Marcus Nelson, Holly (Wade) Macke, Sue (Haaf) Schwarztrauber and Julie (Houman) Krenz sent a check for $1427.06.  It was money left in an idle class account and will be used for projects and scholarships in the School District of Webster.

The WEF board members hope you all enjoy the rest of the summer!  Be safe and see you in the Fall! #TigerProud
